Data Destruction

What is ITAD?

IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) is the industry term referring not just to IT destruction but to redeployment, recycling, refreshing (or upgrading), repairing, and reselling of IT equipment at the end of use. It is the safe and environmentally responsible management of IT resources. Electronic waste can be recycled keeping plastics, dangerous metals and chemicals out of landfills.

It is also the management of Data Security. Protecting sensitive data is important to avoid security breaches and contravening data legislation. Ci Recycling can handle all the legal requirements of data destruction or data sanitisation. Old Hardware can still hold data, even wiping or reformatting your hard drive does not completely remove data. ITAD experts can adhere to best practices and protocols for data deletion. Data destruction is an important consideration when returning leased hardware or disposing of equipment. This may be achieved with specialist data destruction software or by degaussing (electronically removing the magnetic field of a disc or hard drive)

Ci Recycling are certified experts and can therefore cover all areas of ITAD management – from audit to resale or recycling. We offer a secure, streamlined, and stress-free service. Hardware audits can determine your company’s IT requirements, minimise costs and effectively capitalise on any residual value from your IT equipment, from desktops, laptops, servers, and tablets to phones. To ensure the correct and secure disposal of e-waste, Ci Recycling is a fully certified recycler of IT.

We Manage The Total IT Disposal Process

Redeployment

The redeployment of IT equipment within your organisation could be a cost-effective and sustainable solution to managing your IT. There will still be issues of security with data, and possibly the need to update software, but this can be a great way of extending the lifespan of your IT equipment, and making sure you get your money’s worth!

Reselling IT Equipment

Remarketing IT Equipment that your organisation has outgrown is a great way to recycle and to raise revenue. This may involve refurbishing, or refreshing of the equipment. Ci Recycling has a specialised department that focuses on remarketing IT equipment.

Recycling

It is important to recycle IT waste in an environmentally friendly way. To avoid landfill and avoid dangerous elements entering into the environment. There is glass, plastic, chemical, metal (including precious metals) that should be recycled or at the very least disposed of safely. We partner with Sunscreen IT as part of our commitment to social responsibility. Working with Sunscreen IT can be part of your company’s Corporate Social Responsibility. Do check out the great work they do.

We are delighted with the way the project was managed and deployed by CI. They met the rigorous deadlines, seamlessly switching over the laptop estate in multiple stages to meet our demanding requirements. There was minimal disruption to the users during the rollout and the smooth implementation was down to CI’s experience and expertise. They not only fulfilled but exceeded the Council’s expectations.” - Paul Broadstock, Wiltshire Council
